Procter & Gamble, the world's largest consumer
products company, announced that their clinical trials on Metamucil
have been completed at the Glycemic Research Institute,
and have successfully passed the protocol for “Low Glycemic.”
The
Human In Vivo Clinical Trials were conducted under the direction
of Dr. Ann de Wees Allen, Chief of Biomedical Research, Glycemic
Research Institute. During the clinical trials, human subjects were
fed P & G’s Metamucil Berry Burst product to
determine its glycemic properties, including blood glucose and insulin
responses. Additionally, the product was shown not to stimulate
adipose tissue fat-storing.
Metamucil
Berry Burst passed all legal protocols for Low Glycemic
claims, and did not elevate blood glucose or insulin levels.
P
& G is displaying the United States government authorized Seal
of Approval Certification owned by the Glycemic Research Institute
(GRI) on its Metamucil Berry Burst product in marketing
and advertising.
The
Glycemic Research Institute Certification is the only glycemic Seal
authorized in the United States. GRI’s glycemic Certification
is also authorized by government authority in the UK and Canada.
The Glycemic Research Institute has been the industry leader in
glycemic research for the past 23 years.
